   Lieutenant Texas Minter was killed in a railroad crossing accident as he drove to work on constructing the town's animal shelter.

   The patrol car he was driving slid on the icy pavement at the grade crossing, striking the second car of the train and was pronounced dead at the scene.

   Lieutenant Minter was survived by his wife.
