Town Marshal Bobby Moore was shot and killed as he returned home and was entering the side entrance of his residence.

No suspects have ever been apprehended and the case remains unsolved.

He had previously served with the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia and retired as a homicide detective after 20 years.

Town Marshal Moore was widowed and survived by his son, mother and sister.
