Deputy Sheriff Roy Sutton was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Dugan Hollow Road near Madison.

   While responding to a domestic disturbance call involving weapons on Telegraph Hill Road, he met an oncoming westbound vehicle on a hilly, winding section of the road when his squad car ran off its south side and down a very steep embankment.

   His squad car became airborne and struck a tree on its driver's side. He was wearing his seat belt but suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

   Deputy Sheriff Sutton, from Hanover, was survived by his wife, brother, three sisters and mother.
