   Patrolman Ronald St. Germain was killed in a single-vehicle accident after escorting a caravan carrying disabled children to a circus at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.

   While returning on his three-wheeled motorcycle, it ran off the roadway and crashed through a metal fence. Patrolman St. Germain was thrown headfirst into a tree, where he suffered a broken neck and internal bleeding resulting in his death.

   Patrolman St. Germain was survived by his wife, son and parents.
