Cause of Death:Patrolman Harry Borum died after striking his head on the pavement while struggling with a subject at a disturbance.
He was on duty in plain clothes when he investigated a group of subjects who had been causing a disturbance during the evening at numerous establishments.
As he confronted the group who were starting to fight, Patrolman Borum was attacked by a man who knocked him to the ground. He was taken to Union Hospital where he died five days later of a skull fracture.
The 21-year-old male was charged with second-degree murder. He later pleaded guilty to manslaughter, sentenced to two to 21 years in prison and paroled in 1927.
Patrolman Borum was survived by his wife, 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter.
